We do not give appraisals, valuations, or advice about antique
flutes, nor do we buy and sell old flutes.
The first stop for information on historic woodwind instrument
makers and their work is the New
Langwill Index, edited by William Waterhouse (London:
Tony Bingham, 1992), available in most large libraries and
online at flutehistory.com.
Museums with musical instrument collections often have staff
whose job description includes answering inquiries about old
flutes. There's a list of such institutions here.
For valuations and other dealer services you might contact
the antique flute dealers David and Nina Shorey, or visit
their website.
If you have an instrument or something else for sale you
could post to the earlyflute
list or auction it on ebay
or the like.
